CALIFORNIA, MONTANA, RHODE ISLAND, VIRGINIA: Moms were busy across the country this weekend signing up GunSense Voters in malls, at farmer’s markets and at house parties. We also we’re busy shopping at stores with #Gunsense, like Costco, and and not in Target where open carry of firearms is allowed.

Our Moms and Dads team delivers #NotOneMore postcards to Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor.

MOMS ARE GOING #OFFTARGET: Target is still allowing the open carry of loaded firearms in and around its stores. Show Target you take your family’s safety seriously by staying out of their stores this weekend - and every weekend - until Target changes its policy. Instead, spend your dollars at companies with gun sense. Go here for a list a retailers that sell similar items, but don’t allow open carry or the online sale of guns without background checks: http://every.tw/tgt

Send us photos of where you shopped instead of Target, what you bought, and include a sign that says you’re #OffTarget. LIKE, SHARE and SEND your photos to photos@momsdemandaction.org

Moms across America are delivering petitions to Target stores, telling them that open carry of guns in Target is #OffTarget.

Freedom Church of Seattle Quilting Bee: working on the Moms Demand Action Nation Mother’s Dream quilt to honor victims of gun violence.  The photo of Zoe Moore ( in the black Moms Demand tee) shows her cutting quilt pieces from her daughter’s blanket. Her daughter bought a gun and committed suicide.  Also pictured with Zoe is Cheryl Stumbo, a gun violence survivor and activist with Everytown for Gun Safety.

Gun violence survivors and the families of those murdered by guns are speaking up and saying #NOTONEMORE. We are looking at you, Congress, to do the will of the people this time.

#NOTONEMORE. We are speaking up for the safety of America’s children and all citizens. We will not tolerate inaction in Congress any longer.

GUN EXTREMIST ACTIONS BACKFIRING: Last week in Texas, gun extremists armed with assault rifles entered a Chili’s Grill & Bar and a Sonic Drive-In restaurant, and in both cases the armed men were asked to leave. Thousands of Americans have since expressed their concerns to both restaurant chains, who are now considering significant policy changes: http://every.tw/1hukK9I. Let’s encourage Chili’s and Sonic to do the right thing and put policies in place to keep customers safe. Please SIGN our petition here: http://lnkd.in/bAethRzless

YOU DID IT! After a gun extremist group brought semi-automatic, loaded assault weapons into a Dallas-area Chipotle Mexican Grill this weekend, Moms Demand Action launched a petition which, thanks to all of you, garnered more than 10,000 signatures in just a few hours. In a statement released yesterday to media, a spokesman for Chipotle said, “…we are respectfully asking that customers not bring guns into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel.” Read our statement here: http://www.momsdemandaction.org/9T9W6

VIRGINIA: May, 2014. Our moms joined Gov. McAuliffe at a bill signing for Brendon’s Law. Brendon Mackey was killed at a Virginia fireworks display in 2013 by “celebratory gunfire.” This law will make celebratory gunfire a Class Six felony, which carries up to five years in prison. One of our moms, Rebecca Caffrey, led the charge on this legislation. She was not able to make the bill signing, which is why the Governor is holding up a sign in her honor.
